In an unintentionally exclusive, Zack Galifianakis was revealed to have been cast in the upcoming Jason Segel film “The Muppets.” This unintentional part comes from how the news was revealed, which was during an interview between E! Online, Galifianakis and Robert Downy Jr. for their upcoming comedy Due Date.
RDJ had leaked the new on camera much to Galifianakis’ dismay.
It’s unsure what role Galifianakis will play, but it’s expected that rather than star in the film he would just have a cameo. Co-writer Nicholas Stoller (Get Him To The Greek) mentioned last May that he had written in a ton of cameos. “The Muppets,” which begins shooting next month in Los Angeles will star Jason Segel, Amy Adams, Rashida Jones and Chris Cooper.
The story is loosely based on a original idea from Jim Henson called “The Cheapest Muppet Movie Ever Made.” It stars Gonzo who has been hired as a film director, but blows all his budget the first day. From there, he’s forced to finish the picture with only the help of his Muppet and human friends.
