Zack Snyder confirmed that he has been hired by Warner Bros. to direct the upcoming Superman reboot.
Reported by Deadline, Snyder is set to helm the latest installment of the Superman film franchise, tentatively titled “Man of Steel,” as soon as he completes post on “Sucker Punch.”
Together he will work with with Christopher Nolan who is overseeing the project and David Goyer.
“I’ve been a big fan of the character for a long time, he’s definitely the king of all superheroes, he’s the one,” Snyder, who’s no stranger to superhero comic book movies having directed “Watchmen” and “300.”
“It’s early yet, but I can tell you that what David and Chris have done with the story so far definitely has given me a great insight into a way to make him feel modern. I’ve always felt he was kind of awesome. I’ll finish Sucker Punch and get right at it,” Snyder adds.
Snyder had been on a short list of directors that recently met with the studio heads that include, Tony Scott, Matt Reeves, Jonathan Liebesman, Ben Affleck and Duncan Jones.
