The Avocado Sock

We love avocados but they are the internet troll of the fruit and vegetable world. They seem to exist just to frustrate us. They take forever to ripen and then become overripe if you look at them the wrong way. What drew us to the Avocado Sock is that it gave us a simple way to speed up the ripening process of our avocados so that we could make guacamole (or avocado toast if we are feeling fancy). In side-by-side tests, we found that un-ripened avocados were ready in as little as 24 hours, but were always at least 50% faster than the avocados that were not in the sock. The sock is made of a natural lanolin that keeps the avocado warm and actually ripens it faster than traditional methods like a paper bag. If you are going to give this as a stocking stuff, we suggest you go one step further and slip an avocado in it the day before. You might just get treated to a guacamole appetizer before Christmas Dinner.
