Every so often, a new invention comes out that isn’t just cool, but actually makes the world a little better. Lots kids have trouble affording school supplies like pencils, and we cut down way too many trees to make the disposable writing implements. Now, a new device has been created called the P&P Office Waste Processor has been created that takes old waste paper, chews it up and poops out brand new pencils for people.

It was designed to help offices turn their waste into new office supplies. It works with a pretty simple premise. You just feed it a sheet of waste paper and it will wrap it tightly around a graphite stick, adding a bit of glue to keep the paper together. Then, a new pencil pops out the other end!

It isn’t currently in production, but the design has won several awards in China and it wouldn’t be surprising to see it on the market in the next couple of years.
