News just hit the wire a few minutes ago of an “in-flight anomaly” aboard Virgin Galactic’s Spaceship 2. What they mean by anomaly isn’t exactly sure, but local emergency services have been called out to the scene of what appears to be the craft of an aircraft.
The space plane was carrying two pilots, but there is currently no word on their condition.
The way SpaceShipTwo works is that it’s carried aloft by a specially designed jet and then released before igniting its rocket for suborbital thrill ride into space and then a return to Earth as a glider.
The jet that carried it into the air is OK. That is all the news that is currently available.
The new series is set for a two-episode premiere, June 4 on Disney+.
