From Decfon 18, Dr. Zoz Brooks (of Prototype This! fame) tells an amusing story about how he was able to track down and uncover the identity of the thief who stole his beloved laptop. The video is over 21 minutes long, but it’s entirely worth the watch. It starts out slow, but then really picks up once he’s able to obtain an initial trace. Totally worth the watch, and a simple reminder about how hackers are and will always be, smarter, more resourceful, dedicated than you.
Pwning begins around the three minute mark. I’m totally gong to leave a laptop out in public somewhere just so I can do this. *insert evil grin*
