In a story that could really only come from Florida, a man staying at a motel in the city of Sarasota decided that it would be a good idea to pet the doggy that he saw outside at 12:35 am. In a turn that surprised nobody but him, the cute little doggy turned out to be an alligator, and that alligator turned out to be a little grumpy.
According to deputies, the gator then “bit his leg, ripping off a chunk of his muscle tissue.”
The man didn’t die. Cops in the area brought him to the hospital where he was treated and is listed in undisclosed, but are guessing seriously embarrassed, condition.
Given that this happened after midnight and the guy mistook a gator for a dog, it would not be extremely surprising if we eventually find out that alcohol may have played a factor in the incident.
