No, we’re not talking about a zoo in the Bronx with lions, tigers and bears, nor is this some sort of promotional stunt for this. We’re talking about the La Cita Bar in downtown Los Angeles, where every Sunday it transforms into a not so subtle artsy art class known as the “Bronx Zoo.”
Models are recruited and asked to not only disrobe but don gorilla masks so bar patrons can study and sketch their form. According to event organizer Fiora Boes, the Saturday afternoon sessions are a way to motivate artists to come out, socialize and produce art.
