We’re unsure what Dutch advertising firm Pool Worldwide was thinking when they came up with Google Shoot View, a level/demo incorporating FPS elements into Google Maps Street View.
“Google Shoot View,” essentially allows users to disturbingly walk around any Street View location with an M4A1 assault rifle. Although no one actually gets blown up or shot, you can fire at real buildings, cars, and people.
The idea itself, although, obvious, is a bit disturbing especially after news last week of a real lone gunman opening fire at random people in Los Angelas after being emotionally distraught over a breakup with his girlfriend.
It’s one thing to shoot digital people in a video game, but to even actually aim a virtual girl at real pedestrians is just tasteless and pretty messed up. You can view a demo of Google Shoot View below:
