Happy Rosh Hashanah – Stray Dog Howls Along With Rabbi’s Shofar

This video is actually from a few years ago, but, with the Jewish New Year coming up over the weekend, we thought it would be a good time to bring it out and give everyone a good laugh.

In case you didn’t know what a Shofar is, it’s a ram’s horn that is turned into a sort of ceremonial trumpet and blown at a couple of the bigger Jewish Holidays, like Rosh Hashanah. There’s more to it than that, but it isn’t relevant to the story.

So, this one congregation was apparently holding their religious services outdoors when a dog happened to wander by just as the Rabbi began to blow his Shofar.

Upon hearing the god-awful nose that the shofar makes, decided to join in with his own soulful howl.

When everyone stopped laughing, the Rabbi said “This wasn’t a setup, I promise.”
