Look, I get it, we have to respect different cultures. In some places we keep dogs as pets in others we keep them as appetizers. I’m not judging that. However, when you keep a small animal in a 3 inch pouch for two months until it dies, that is just pretty messed up.
That is apparently what is happening in China where they are selling live newts, turtles and fish in pouches meant to be worn as keychains. The liquid in the pouches is allegedly a nutrient rich solution that keeps the animal alive for two months. We aren’t sure how it gets air, but…WTF?!?
Let’s hope that this is a fake or that perhaps people are letting them go at the end. I have a sad feeling that it is real and when the animal dies, it just goes into the dumpster.
