Hungry? How About Deep Fried Butter On A Stick?

Fried Twinkies, chocolate covered bacon, battered Oreos… you name it, the fair is selling it out of a cart. There is one line that they’ve never crossed… until now. This year at the Iowa State Fair, hungry daredevils can treat themselves to a batter dipped, deep fried log of butter.

They take 1/8th of a pound of butter . jam a stick in it, dip it in a batter that is heavy with sugar and cinnamon. Then, they deep fry it for just over three minutes until it is golden brown and certified as a weapon of cardiac destruction.

The creator claims that by the time it is done frying, most of the butter has melted into the batter or drips out down your arm, so you aren’t actually eating a stick of butter… just a butter soaked piece of fried batter.
