Like every normal 19-year-old, Eric Jacqmain has created a “death-ray with intensity of 5,000 shining suns”.
From the YouTube video below, you can witness its feat as it is powerful enough to “melt steel, vaporize aluminum, boil concrete, turn dirt into lava, and obliterate any organic material in an instant.” Surely you must be wondering how this is possible, considering Mythbusters busted the myth not too long ago (And you wouldn’t be a proper geek if you don’t watch Mythbusters).
Well, according to Jacqmain it was achieved by gluing 5,800 tiny mirror tiles on top of a fiberglass satellite dish and drilling a hole on the back to allow light to shine through a translucent piece of plastic.
Sadly, Jacqmain’s “R5800 Solar Death Ray” was destroyed in a shed fire by its own generated energy. But Jacqmain has since vowed to create a bigger and better version with 32,000 mirrors in the future.
And folks, this is how the world ends.
