Inspirational: Science Cheerleaders – ‘Busting Down Stereotyes’

Here’s some inspiration for Friday. Meet the Science Cheerleaders, an organization set up to promote and encourage young women to get into science, a field traditionally dominated by men. The group is made up of cheerleaders who are current and former NBA and NFL cheerleaders who also happen to scientists, doctors and engineers. Founded by Darlene Cavalier, a former 76’ers Cheerleader, Science Cheerleaders aims to band hot nerdy cheerleaders together in order to break stereotypes and to “get the conversation going, rally the troops, solicit views from all sides and change the tone of science and science policy in this country.”

Sound like a win to me, goooooooooooooooooo science!!!!!
