Man Trolls Woman’s “Spiritual Journey” Gofundme

There are some amazing uses for Gofundme. I’ve seen people use to help start businesses or create a fund to help support a family dealing with illness or disaster, but some people want to use it for vacation. The good news, is that other people want to use it to make fun of those people.

It all started on February 15th when Bec G. posted a Gofundme for $10,000, asking that people subsidize her “Spiritual journey around the world.” So far, the fund has raised $530 to aid her so she can: help people realize their own dreams and show them that anyone can follow their passions and make the life they want a reality. As to why you should trust that she’s qualified for this, she explains that she is a spiritual teacher, life coach, reiki and crystal healer, artist, YouTuber, traveler and writer.

It really isn’t all that surprising that some people on the internet see this as a lazy money grab by someone who is looking to have strangers subsidize their “Eat, Pray, Love” experience. It’s safe to say that Stuarkt Hill is one of those people. Earlier today, he launched his own $10,000 Gofundme so that he might follow Bec G… with a megaphone. His campaign has currently raised $153. Here’s some of his sales pitch:

Hey internet,

I read with interest about Bec G’s fundraising efforts for her Spiritual Journey and Travel Fund ( https://www.gofundme.com/spiritual-journey-and-travel-fund) and I thought to myself:

“I’m a spiritual guy. I need to get on that gravy train!” and then I thought, how could I make this more spiritual?

So I decided I’d just follow Bec on her Spiritual Journey with a megaphone in hand, constantly yelling “NAMASTE” at random intervals.

I am a spiritual teacher, life coach, rake enthusiast and crystal user, artist, YouTuber connoisseur, traveler and writer. I love sharing these gifts with people and often want to just give them freely to anyone who can benefit from them – but I’d like you to fund that.
I believe we should all have the opportunity to have the things we need at our finger tips, whether or not we have the money for them. Especially when we don’t have the money for them. So, I want to be able to give freely, without worry, to people who have less or just need a helping hand for the moment. But just as long as you help pay for it.

It’s good karma. Trust me. I’m a spiritual teacher.

Personally, I think they should team up. If both get funded, they’ll be travelling the world together anyways. Who knows, maybe somewhere along the way, love will blossom. NAMASTE!
