In what might be the most amazing case of accidental journalism ever, Sohaib Athar unknowingly tweeted the death of Osama Bin laden to the world in real time!
He thought that he was just tweeting about the usual and annoying occurrence of helicopters in the area, but it turned out that the copters he was complaining about were actually the Apaches that the covert services were using to storm Bin Laden’s compound.
Talk about the scoop of the century. After last night’s announcement from President Obama, Athar realized what he had done and followed up with the tweet that won the internet for the foreseeable future:
“Uh Oh, Now I’m the guy who liveblogged the Osama raid without knowing it.”
