Although this failed proposal video didn’t surface on YouTube until Monday this week, it actually took place last month at a UCLA basketball game at the Honda Center in Anaheim.
Watch as UCLA’s “Mistletoe Cam” captures a moment that’s absolutely cringe worthy if not downright embarrassing. Midway through a 71-63 beating, an unidentified man is shown on the jumbotron trying to propose, saying “I knew that I was going to do this since the first day that I met you, and I figured now was as good a time as any.” The response from his girlfriend? Awkward silence following by running in the other direction.
Let this be a lesson to all the Romeos out there hoping to pop the question to your beloved. A college basketball game may not be the most ideal and romantic spot. Especially when there’s a chance you’d be featured on the jumbotron for thousands to see… who all happen to also have cell phones.
