If you are a cat owner, or you’ve ever been pregnant, you probably know about Toxoplasmosis. Aside from being dangerous to human fetuses, the virus, which can be caught from cats, has been said to make the victims overly loyal and protective to the viral hosts. Now, a new study is putting forth the theory that toxoplasmosis may also be connected to a love of Bondage and BDSM. Specifically, people who have toxoplasmosis are more likely to be sexually aroused by their own fear, danger, and sexual submission.
The study, which took place in Slovakia and the Czech Republic, covered 36,500 people. Some of the subjects tested positive for the parasite and others where clean. According to their findings, it showed that people with the parasite were more sexually aroused by danger and sexual submission than those who did not test positive for toxoplasmosis. This doesn’t mean that everyone who likes a little slap and tickle has toxo, just that those with toxo are more likely to be into it.
