I’ve always enjoyed spice foods, but this is crazy. YouTuber, Ben Sumadiwiria, wanted a new challenge for his food channel, Awesome Eats. The soluction? Death noodles. An unbearably spicy noodle dish known as the spiciest in the world. The heat comes thanks to the 100 bird’s eye chilis crushed into the sauce. To give you an idea of just how hot the dish is, consider this. Tobasco sauce is a 5,000 on the Scoville scale, one Bird’s Eye Chilli is 200,000. He had 100 of them.
From the first bite, Ben and his friend knew they were in trouble. His cohort threw in after the first bite, calling the dish inedible. Meanwhile, Ben powered through, devouring more than half of his noodles before quitting.
That’s when it happened. Ben didn’t just deal with the burning mouth and sweating that comes from spicy food, the pain was so intense, that he actually went deaf for two minutes.
Once he regained his composure, Sumadiwiria admitted that the challenge was a little bit too much, even for him.
“This was definitely the hottest thing I’ve ever eaten. Within seconds of tasting them I was sweating and feeling sick. Everybody who tried them threw up outside in the drain. They’re known as ‘death noodles’ and some locals can even finish a whole plate, which is just crazy.”
