Thinking about becoming a full-time superhero or maybe even just a part-time one? Then you have to check out the superhero supply store in Park Slope where anyone can waltz in and buy superhero gear such as grappling hooks, bottles of chaos and gravity, capes, invisibility paint, secret identity kits, and more. The staff is knowledgeable, helpful and even respectful of your alias!
Before you get too excited, there’s one more thing you should know. The Brooklyn Superhero Supply Co. is not really a superhero store, but rather a front for a non-profit (youth orientated) creative writing and tutoring centre, 826NYC.
Imagined by Dave Eggers, this concept store much like our favorite superheroes has a dual identity. Like finding the batcave through Wayne Manor, to enter 826NYC, you actually have to enter through a secret passage through a swinging bookcase.
All proceeds from the BBS store fund 826NYC directly, so whenever you’re in Brooklyn, make sure you check it out regardless if you’re a civilian, wannabe superhero or even a villain.
