The geeks over at Rinry Game Game decided it was a good idea to test and compare Nintendo cartridges to see how much extreme abuse and neglect the 25-year-old NES games can take before faulting. To not be complete bastards, they’ve conducted their test with eight copies of the most abundant NES game, “Super Mario Bros/Duck Hunt.”
The end result? Seven of the eight NES cartridges survived the testing. Which is odd, considering I keep mine in near mint condition and none of them were working the last time I checked. Anyway, check out their experiment below. Even if you don’t care how durable classic NES cartridges are, there’s still the cool nostalgic factor. A definite must watch for gamers and geeks-alike.
