Going green has been the buzzword as of late, so it’s not surprising to find ecological designs such as Je-Hyun Kim’s Natural Year Phone.
The Natural Year Phone is designed to last only two years before biodegrading and falling apart. As you can see, it is predominately made up of hay/grass with a few key technical components which are all recyclable.
Naturally, the question of its durability comes into question. Can it take a fall? How will it hold up in someone’s tight jean pockets? What happens when you drop it in the toilet after a drunken night of ultimate beer pong? Perhaps this is why The Natural Year phone is purely conceptual as it is highly doubtful of ever being commercially viable.
