OK, maybe not a galaxy far far away, but definitely a long time ago! Some images were recently discovered in a manuscript from the 14th century. Along with the images of saints and nuns, it appears that they’ve also stumbled upon an image of Jedi Master Yoda of Star Wars fame. Personally, I think he’s a little closer to Yogurt from Spaceballs, but this is close enough for government work.
Here’s what BoingBoing had to say:
“Historians Damien Kempf and Maria L. Gilbert, whose new book Medieval Monsters collects illustrations from bestiaries, travel books, maps, bibles, and other medieval documents, spotted Yoda in a 14th century manuscript called the Smithfield Decretals.”
