91-year-old Marvel Comics legend, Stan Lee, will not attend SDCC this year due to laryngitis. Lee was set to make appearances and signings on Friday and Saturday but has decided to skip the event.

“Unfortunately, Stan Lee has lost his voice due to laryngitis and is unable to attend this year’s San Diego Comic-Con and has regrettably had to cancel his appearances,” said his spokesperson, confirming the news. “Stan is otherwise well and in good health, though he is disappointed to miss the event and wishes everyone a great time.”

If you are disappointed that you won’t get a chance to meet the man himself, never fret. Lee is scheduled to appear at other cons later this year and his own Stan Lee’s Comikaze lat October in Los Angeles.

If you can’t make it to any other con this year, you can always find him on the big screens in Marvel Studio’s upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy where he makes a guest appearance.
