Is it just me or did someone watch “The Warrior” and decide to turn it into a comedy?

OK, I can’t say that I’ve loved many… or any of Kevin James’ movies. Some of them have made me giggle here and there, but he’s not really been on the receiving end of all that many great scripts. Now we’ve got “Here Comes The Boom.” I’m not entirely sure what to think of it yet. To me, it seems a lot like a comedic version of The Warrior. The upside is… if it is funny, we all laugh. If it sucks, we all still get to see Kevin James get beat up. Plus, we get Selma Hayak… so it is pretty much a win-win.

Here comes the boom punches it’s way to theaters this October.

Official Synopsis:
In the comedy Here Comes the Boom, former collegiate wrester Scott Voss (Kevin James) is a 42-year-old apathetic biology teacher in a failing high school. When cutbacks threaten to cancel the music program and lay off its teacher (Henry Winkler) Scott begins to raise money by moonlighting as a mixed martial arts fighter. Everyone thinks Scott is crazy – most of all the school nurse, Bella (Salma Hayek) – but in his quest, Scott gains something he never expected as he becomes a sensation that rallies the entire school.
