Today wasn’t all just superheroes at SDCC, one of my favorite new shows, Fox’s post-apocalyptic comedy “The Last Man on Earth” also held a panel and attending were stars Will Forte (Phil), Kristen Schaal (Carol) and January Jones (Melissa), alongside executive producer Chris Miller.
While the panel was spent recapping Season 1, some tidbits were divulged about the second season. For starters, they have just begun writing Season 2 and while it’s not clear whether Melissa will be back, it was hinted that she wouldn’t be at the panel if she weren’t.
It’s expected that the other Phil Miller played by Boris Kodjoe, will not be returning, so Phil will return to be known as Phil rather than his silly “Tandy” middle name. Additionally, Jason Sudeikis’ character who was teased at the end of Season 1, is in fact Phil’s astronaut brother and he’s expected to play a role in the new season. While it’s still unclear whether he’d make appearances in space or just in flashbacks.
“The Last Man on Earth” is set to return sometime in September.
