One of the things that have made the city of Pompeii such a rich archaeological find is the fact that Mount Vesuvius exploded with such fury that many people were caught by surprise. As a result, the petrified remains of the victims were unearthed in the exact spots where they were kills. Some are at dinner tables, some are crouching together in a corner, and then there’s this guy. In a newly excavated portion of the ruins, Archaeologists have discovered a man that tried to escape, only to meet a fate similar to that of Wile E. Coyote. That’s right, as the man mad his mad dash to safety, he was crushed where he stood by a huge boulder that was hurled his way by the pyroclastic flow of the volcano.
