In the vast world of streaming, on-demand Networks, Shudder is making itself known as the home for horror. At their panel tonight, they’ll be formally unveiling a TV adaptation of Creepshow. If you aren’t familiar with the original 1982 film written by Stephen King and directed by Night of the Living Dead’s George Romero, you are missing out. The new series will be run by The Walking Dead/ Horror Icon Greg Nicotero.
Nicotero will be on hand to promote the show at tonight’s panel (Shortly after his walking Dead panel ends) along with cast-members Giancarlo Esposito (Better Call Saul), Tricia Helfer (Battlestar Galactica, Lucifer), Adrienne Barbeau (1982’s Creepshow, The Fog), DJ Qualls (The Man in the High Castle, Supernatural), and author Joe Hill (NOS4A2).
One of the most exciting things I’m noticing in the trailer is that the show looks like it is really embracing practical effects over CGI.
