THR is reporting that Christian Slater is in talks to take over the lead role in ABC’s new series “The Forgotten.”

“Forgotten,” from WBTV and producer Jerry Bruckheimer, is a mystery drama revolving around a group of amateur detectives led by a former cop (Slater) whose 11-year-old daughter was kidnapped three years before.

Slater is picking up the role that was originally held by Rupert Penry-Jones who was let go after the show was picked up. The show will launch in late September, after they recast one more character and start getting episodes in the can.
