Everything that Ryan Reynolds posts needs to be taken with a grain of salt. It could be news, it could be him trying to force things into going his direction (like when “someone” leaked the Deadpool test reel online). Or, it could just be him trolling fans for some giggles. Either way, it’s fun to dream, and maybe this is a teaser of a pending announcement at this summer’s D23 Marvel panel.
Yesterday, Reynolds posted a very cryptic image to his Instagram feed, along with the caption: ” Investigation heading into year 5. Or as I call it, ‘Phase 5.’ The point is, I love conspiracy-yarn. #LeakAversary “ Could this mean that Deadpool is set to make his appearance in the MCU in Phase 5 of the film universe? Who knows. It’s not unlikely. After all, Kevin Feige has said he’d like to see Reynolds stay in the role and that he didn’t see a reason to reboot Deadpool because, why fix what isn’t broken?
