After his success hit in “Marley & Me,” Owen Wilson has set his sight on another dog movie. But this time, he will voice a dog and star in Fox’s upcoming live-action/CGI comedy, “Marmaduke.”
“Marmaduke” hopes to follow the design of other lice-action/CG animal films such as “Garfield” and “Alvin & The Chipmunks.”
Based off the long-running comic strip by Brad Anderson with the same name, “Marmaduke,” is a strip revolving the Winslow family and their Great Dane, Marmaduke. Marmaduke is unlike most dogs however, and exhibits many more human like characteristics.
“Marmaduke” will feature both a human cast – Lee Pace, William H. Macy and Judy Greer – and voice talents that include: Steve Coogan, Emma Stone, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Damon and Marlon Wayans, George Lopez, and Fergie of Blackeyed Peas.
Tom Dey, who directed Wilson in Jackie Chan’s “Shanghai Noon” is set to direct, which has a June 2010 release date.
