Rumors have been floating around about Rachel McAdams joining the cast of Marvel’s Doctor Strange since July, but now we have confirmation that it’s true and she’ll be taking the female lead in the film opposite Benedict Cumberbatch.

Unfortunately, we have no news as to who she’ll play, but we know that she’ll be joining a cast that already also includes Chiwetel Ejiofor as Baron Mordo and Mads Mikkelsen as a yet unnamed baddie.

There’s no synopsis for the film yet, but Cumberbatch described the movie, which is set to hit theaters November 4th, 2016, had this to say about it:

Marvel is a stable of bringing out ordinary comic characters and turning them into screen-like gods. It’s very different, it’s an Astral Plane. There’s a huge new element to this Marvel universe that’s going to be employed in building this story and this character. But you know, I’m really excited about it, about working with Scott [Derrickson] whose imagination is endless, and all the boys and girls at Marvel who know what they’re doing.

One thing is for sure, this is shaping up to be the most critically acclaimed Marvel movie cast to date.
