It’s been awhile, but we finally have some new “Sin City” news courtesy of SDCC where magic occurs.

Director Robert Rodriquez announced today that the long-awaited sequel to Frank Miller’s hit “Sin City” will happen, and is close to moving into production.

“Frank has written a script for ‘Sin City 2. It could shoot as early as later this year.”

The film will adapt one of Miller’s original “Sin City” stories by the same name, as well as two new stories set in the “Sin City” universe. One of them is called “The Long Bad Night.”

As of now, no casting has been announced, so it’s a toss up as to who’d return to the sequel. But “The Dame To Kill For” does star Clive Owens’ character Dwight McCarthy as well as guest appearances by Mickey Rourke’s character Marv and Jessica Alba’s characters Nancy. For now I guess we can just assume that all three will return.
