The 1990s X-Men series still remains the favorite version of the Marvel mutants not found in comics. That’s what made last year’s announcement that the series would be coming back on Disney+ so exciting for fans. Today, Marvel’s animation panel released a ton of new info on the show, so let’s break it down for you.

  • The New series picks up directly after the events of the old show. That means Professor X is off the board. So, who will be leading the X-Men moving forward? None other than Magneto.
  • The team roster for the start of the series will look a lot like it did when the show ended in the 90s: Cyclops, Jean Grey, Storm, Jubilee, Wolverine, Beast, Rogue, and Gambit. They will be backed up by Sunspot, Cable, Nightcrawler, Forge, Bishop, and the return of Morph.
  • The main villain for the new series will be Mr. Sinister and he’ll be assisted by Emma Frost, Sebastian Shaw, Callisto, and Valerie Cooper. There was also some footage screened at the panel where the X-Men go up against Bolivar Trask.
  • The show is set to drop on Disney+ in the fall of 2023. However, you can now (finally) watch the original series in it’s original order on the streaming network as of today.
