Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is an amazing film and fans are bummed that we won’t get to see Beyond The Spider-Verse until next March. But, it looks like we might be seeing Miles Morales in an animated short before then.

Deadline is reporting that the animated short, Spider-Man: Within The Spider-Verse is actually going to be screened today at the Annecy International Film Festival. The new film will take a look at the stress and anxiety that Miles Morales is suffering as a result of his double life. Here’s the synopsis of the film, via Deadline:

Spinning off the world of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and Spider-Man: Across The Spider Verse, the short shows its Marvel Comics protagonist Miles Morales/Spider suffering from an anxiety attack as he feels overwhelmed by school work, exams and relationships.

His fears are manifested by a dark figure representing his alter ego as well as an imaginary infestation of spiders in his bedroom. It ends on a lighter note as turns to his father Jefferson “Jeff” Morales, with the short also tapping into the importance of strong father and son relationships.

The film is complete and has already been screened to audiences at the film festival today. We hope that it gets a wide release soon. We’re not only hungry for new Miles Morales stories, but this one sounds like it could help a lot of people.
