As we inch closer to the end of The Walking Dead, we know that there’s still plenty of life in other arms of the franchise. Along with Fear The Walking Dead, which has actually been a better show than the original for the last couple of seasons, there’s also the upcoming Darryl/Carol spin-off as well as Tales of The Walking Dead. The latter series is going to serve as an anthology that includes both new and old characters in stories that take place in the larger narrative of the universe. It will also serve as a way to test new characters and storylines for their own series potential.

Variety is reporting that Daniella Pineda (Cowboy Bebop) has been added to the cast. We have no details on her character or the stories that the six-episode series will tell, but she’s joining a pretty great cast that already includes Terry Crews, Parker Posey, Poppy Liu, Anthony Edwards, and Jillian Bell.

According to Variety:

The six-episode episodic anthology series will feature both new and established characters from “The Walking Dead” universe.

“Tales of the Walking Dead” is slated to debut this summer on AMC and AMC Plus. The show was first announced as being in development in September 2020 and ordered to series in October 2021.
