Today the film moved one step closer to production with the news that Dan Trachtenberg, the director of 10 Cloverfield Lane, had been hired to helm the movie.
How is it possible that a film based on an arcade game from the 80’s, starring Dwayne Johnson, looks like it could be the first good video game movie in history?
There are currently no details about the plot, of yet, but we can only imagine what they will come up with. Just remember, no matter how bad the movies are, they can never take the old NES games away from us!
That’s a pretty big promise for a game that was pretty much just an ape, a lizard, and a werewolf, punching buildings until they fall down.
With early buzz on the Assassin’s Creed trailer feeling like video game movies could finally achieve some level of redemption, it’s time to push forward and see what other games we can squeeze for box office cash.
