Hello Kitty Creators, Sanrio, Concoct New World Of Anthropomorphic Sushi

Sanrio, the company behind the internationally famous Hello Kitty brand has just launched their newest set of characters based of off sliced pieces of sushi and meat.

The new food-based characters, are cute at first glance, but then start to get a little creep with pictures like this where the translation of the text says “Please grill me Thoroughly!”:

The characters actually came out of a contest by Sanrio that was designed to pick the cutest out of 20 different edible mascots:

While most of the characters are fish, like sliced salmon (or maybe tuna), Kirimi-Chan and Kamaboko-Chan, whose head is made out of molded fish paste, there are some land dwelling critters in the crew likeRosu-chan, who has a slice of ham for a head.
