I don’t care how cute Pumbaa is or how much you loved Babe. These hyper-smart, absurdly delicious creatures can be vicious. The last thing we need is them using tools. Yet, that’s exactly what’s going on according to the folks over at IFLScience.
The evidence of this new evolutionary benchmark comes from a video of Visayan warty pigs using sticks to help them dig holes. The warty pigs are a critically endangered species from the Philippines that was taken in a French Zoo.
Thankfully, there is still a big distance between digging with a stick and using it as a spear to hunt down humans (which some pigs do eat when given the chance). Now, it’s just a matter of time before we face off in a fight for survival against super-advanced pig-warriors.
