Whether you agree with him or can’t stand his opinions, you’ve got to give some respect to Chicago Sun Times Film Critic, Roger Ebert. He’s the only film critic to ever win a Pulitzer. He’s battled cancer and lost the ability to speak. He even co-wrote Beyond the Valley of the Dolls as well as working on a Who Killed Bambi with the Sex Pistols.
Sadly, despite his stature and critical acclaim he still has to deal with the one thing there is no cure for… idiots, and idiots on the Internet. From a recent post on Ebert’s site in the answer man section of his reviews, bona fide Internet idiot S.J. Stanczak from Chicago asked:
“Yo dude, u missed out on ‘Disaster Movie,’ a hardcore laugh-ur-@zz-off movie! Y U not review this movie!? It was funny as #ell! Prolly the funniest movie of the summer! U never review these, wat up wit dat?”
In which Ebert responded:
“Hey, bro, I wuz buzier than $#i+, @d they never shoed it b4 hand. I peeped in the IMDb and saw it zoomed to #1 as the low$ie$t flic of all time, wit @ lame-@zz UZer Rating of 1.3. U liked it? Wat up wit dat? “
At least it’s great to know he still has an excellent sense of humor. Be sure to check out his site to read his reviews and ask him anything you like about movies.
