In what is arguably the stupidest story I’ve seen today…
A California math teacher has been placed on paid administrative leave after he rattled a table to get the attention of one of his students. Apparently his action startled an eighth-grade girl who then used her cell phone to call the police.
According to police Sgt. Tim Lynch, officers were sent to Selby Lane School Tuesday afternoon because of reports a teacher was causing a disturbance.
When officers arrived, they found a calm teacher with a normal class in session.
The sergeant says the teacher’s table-rattling startled a student and she used her cell phone to call 911. According to Lynch, the other students in the class weren’t bothered by the teacher’s actions.
Due to police response, however, the teacher was placed on leave as dictated by protocol.
