Wow… Your really can buy just about anything on the internet nowadays, but just like with everything else the phrase that pays is Caveat Emptor – Buyer Beware!

Apparently, there is a problem with the internet based “fresh sperm” industry in Canada. The government is warning that the semen may be tainted with infectious diseases.

…Heh… Taint.

Here’s what the Canadian Government had to say on the matter:

“Canadians should be cautious of websites advertising the availability of semen, such as ‘fresh’ semen that has not been processed and cryopreserved (frozen)”

The go on to say that people who claim their semen is clean… might actually be lying.

Lying? On the internet? I am shocked!

So what was the big sperm scandal that started this all? Well, actually, there wasn’t one. The Canadians just want to be diligent.

– Arguably, if you are dumb enough to buy semen on Craigslist then you are probably going to get what you pay for.

For those you you dying to know. Here are Canada’s official semen handling guidelines.

Canada has strict controls for obtaining donor semen to minimize the potential risk of transmitting serious infectious diseases. The regulations require that donor semen must be quarantined for a minimum of six months, and donors must be screened and tested before the donation and six months after.

…I can’t believe this is where Wolverine comes from.
