On what was suppose to be one of the happiest days turned into tragedy for one Turkish groom. His father and two aunts were accidentally killed at his wedding after he opened fire into the air with a machine gun, which is part of the usual celebrations.
According to reports the groom somehow lost control of the machine gun and accidentally aimed it at the guests. In addition to the three fatalities, eight other relatives were injured.
Police has since intervened and arrested the man.
Shooting into the air is traditional at weddings, circumcisions or sports victories in Turkey. This has however led to criticism by opponents who point to the number of accidents as a result of stray bullets.
Someone needs to let Turkish people know that there is such a thing as blank rounds. Grasping the concept of physics must have also failed them somehow.
