Looking at the current options for political leaders can be pretty depressing, not matter which side of the aisle you are on. So, it’s not all that surprising that one Vermont town decided to go in a different direction when it came to picking their next mayor.
In a real nailbiter that came down to just three votes, the town of Fair Haven, Vermont elected Lincoln a Nubian Goat as the next mayor of their fair town. 13 votes was all it took for Lincoln to take the title. Coming in a close second with 10 votes was Sammie the dog.
Sadly, the title is honorary and the goat will not wield any actual power, but even if he did, it’s not like he could do much worse than pretty much any other elected official right now.
