If you haven’t seen Bojack Horseman on Netflix, now’s a great time to check out the first two seasons. You’ve got till July 22nd until season 3 begins. That’s plenty of time to check out season one and two. Don’t worry about the Christmas Special. It’s kind of horrible on purpose, but that still doesn’t make it fun to watch.
If you haven’t had a chance to watch the show, here it is in a nutshell. Bojack Horseman is a washed up horse/ actor from a 80’s or 90’s family sitcom. Think of an exaggerated Bob Saget, who also happens to be a horse. The show is about his narcissistic personality, horrible ability to related to anyone (including himself), and his quest to get back to the top in an industry which largely considers him to be a joke. Along with being very funny, the show actually has some pretty impressive emotional depth that makes you care about pretty much everyone in the series. Also, it’s got a stellar cast that includes: Will Arnett, Alison Brie, Amy Sedaris, Paul F Thompkins, and Aaron Paul.
Here’s the synopsis for Season 3:
BoJack is grappling with his legacy while trudging through an increasingly turbulent Oscar campaign for his star-making turn in the Secretariat biopic. BoJack struggles with how he’ll ultimately be remembered by his fans and what lasting impact he’s made on those closest to him. Also, there are lots of silly puns and talking animal jokes and celebrity cameos and all the other stuff that everybody loves about BoJack Horseman. It’s a very funny and good season of television. Don’t worry.
